Scarf Design for United Nations, China

This is a scarf for promoting awareness of caring for AIDS patients. as a souvenir for International AIDS Day on December 1st.  I designed the scarf for the International AIDS day of year 2004, but it’s actually been made in year 2005, right for the occasion of International AIDS Day again!

First design

Very premature.  All writings/drawings were done by UNDP China staff.  Wanna guess which one is my calligraphy?
Second design

Tried UN blue rather than color blocks, and eliminated colors to only four (red, blue, black and white).
Third design

Some thought the human hand red heart similes ladies’ sex organs - well, maybe that’s what it meant on International AIDS Day.  Have some sense of humor, you senior UN officers!
Fourth design

Tried to enroll more China into the design. Aren’t these two pandas cute?  Rumors on the street saying they are gay pandas - it’s hard to tell which one is female.
Final design!

This design finally is made to real scarf (I have one in my drawer as a collection of my work).  I dropped all traces of my previous designs and come up with a completely different one, and people said they like it.  I can’t be more happy about it.
